Privacy notice

Your media. Your control.

Version 2026-10-16-v1 · Updated 16 October 2026

StartMadeSimple Ltd, 9 Holder Close, Reading, RG2 9HQ, United Kingdom, is responsible for the account and service information described here. For privacy questions or requests, email info@startsimple.cc.

How the current beta works

Your imported media, editing and video export stay in your browser. Device drafts are not cloud backups. Opening Clip still connects to VCMP for your account and workspace, so “on your device” does not mean the entire service is offline.

1. Media and drafts on your device

The editor reads files you choose, including their names, content and the details needed to play them. Drafts can contain scene text, brand details, images, video and audio. Saving a draft stores these in this browser’s device storage, associated with your Clip workspace. It does not upload the media to a Clip media library or to an AI provider.

Device drafts remain until you remove them or the browser clears them. Clearing site data can also sign you out of VCMP. Downloaded exports remain wherever you save them. Use care on a shared device: someone with access to your browser or device may be able to access saved data.

2. Account and service information

Clip uses your existing VCMP account identifier, name, organisation membership and permissions to open the correct workspace. Required account information lets us deliver the service under our agreement with you. We also use necessary access and technical information to protect accounts, investigate errors and prevent abuse, for our legitimate interests in running a secure service.

When you accept the Clip terms, the acceptance record identifies your account, workspace, terms version and acceptance time. We use it to record our agreement and resolve disputes. If you contact us, we receive what you send, your contact details and the related correspondence.

Account information is kept while needed to provide your VCMP account. Agreement and complaint records are kept only for the period reasonably needed to manage the relationship, resolve the issue and meet applicable record-keeping or legal-claim requirements. A request to close Clip does not automatically close other VCMP services you use.

3. Optional payments and service providers

Free beta editing does not require payment. If you separately choose an available paid plan, Stripe handles checkout and payment details. VCMP receives the customer and subscription references, billing status and transaction information needed to manage that purchase and keep required financial records. Payment data is used to perform the purchase contract and meet legal accounting obligations.

Our hosting, account, security and payment providers process relevant service information to operate VCMP. Authorised staff may access account or support information when needed to assist you or investigate a report. Information may also be disclosed where legally required or necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

The account and checkout privacy information supplied by VCMP and Stripe describes their wider services. Imported media in the current local editing workflow is not sent to Stripe.

4. Future AI or cloud features

AI generation and cloud media storage are not part of this editing beta. Before enabling a feature that sends your prompts or media elsewhere, we will explain the provider, purpose, information sent, retention and any international transfer arrangements, and ask you to confirm the request.

Any statement about provider training, deletion or storage location will depend on the provider terms and configuration actually in use. Do not assume that an AI request is private merely because it starts inside VCMP. A new processing purpose will be explained before it begins.

5. Cookies and device storage

VCMP uses account and security cookies needed for sign-in. Clip uses device storage to save and reopen the drafts you request. This storage is distinct from a cloud account backup. Any optional analytics or marketing technologies remain subject to the choices offered through VCMP; accepting the Clip terms is not marketing consent.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of personal information we hold. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Local media copies must also be removed from your own devices if you no longer want to keep them.

You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests for reasons relating to your situation, and to direct marketing at any time. Contact info@startsimple.cc. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or address legal claims.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. Contacting us first is welcome, but is not a condition of making a complaint.
