The essentials
- You keep your rights in your own content.
- Only import music, images, video and voices you are entitled to use for your intended purpose.
- The current editor works with media on your device. Keep your original files and exported videos.
- Your legal consumer rights are preserved. These terms do not make anyone immune from a copyright claim.
1. Your agreement and account
These terms apply when you explicitly accept them to activate Clip. You must be at least 18 and authorised to act for any organisation whose account you use. Keep your login secure and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. Existing VCMP account terms continue to govern the wider platform; these terms describe Clip.
We will ask you to accept material changes before using the affected Clip features. Changes do not retrospectively alter an agreed purchase. You can stop using Clip at any time; deleting a draft does not close your VCMP account or cancel a separate subscription.
2. What the beta includes
The current beta is an editor for videos up to 60 seconds, using templates and your own media. Editing and rendering run in your browser. Export availability, format and speed depend on your device and browser. Check the preview and downloaded file before publishing.
Drafts saved on this device are not a cloud backup and do not automatically transfer to another device. Browser data removal can delete them. Keep separate copies of source media and completed exports.
Free beta access does not subscribe you to a paid plan. Any optional paid feature requires a separate checkout showing its price, billing frequency, included allowance, renewal and cancellation terms. AI generation is not included in the current editing beta. Proposed AI features and prices are not a commitment to supply them.
We will explain any future AI provider, the inputs to be sent and the credit charge before asking you to confirm a generation request. Outputs will need your review; generation cannot guarantee originality, accuracy, exclusive rights or acceptance by a social platform.
3. Your music and media permissions
You must own the relevant rights, have permission covering the intended use, or have another valid legal basis for importing, editing, combining, exporting and publishing your material. This includes photographs, footage, logos, recordings, compositions, performances and people’s voices or likenesses. Obtain necessary permissions from people featured in your content.
Buying or streaming a song does not normally give you permission to use it in a video. A licence available inside one social platform may not cover an exported video, another platform, paid advertising or commercial use. Check any required credit, territory, duration and distribution restrictions. Keep evidence of your permission.
We do not supply a licence to third-party music merely because you import it into Clip. Do not remove rights information or circumvent technical protection. You remain responsible for choosing material that you can lawfully use and for the way you publish your video.
4. Ownership and our limited permission
You retain the rights you hold in your original material. You grant us only the non-exclusive permission needed to process, reproduce and adapt that material to provide the Clip actions you request. If a confirmed feature requires a service provider to process it, that permission extends only to that provider’s work on our behalf. It does not transfer ownership or grant us permission to advertise with your content.
The permission lasts only as needed to deliver your request and, where applicable, remove stored copies through the stated deletion process. Our templates and software remain ours or our licensors’. You may use the supplied Clip templates in your finished videos, including commercial videos; this does not clear rights in material you add.
5. Responsible use
Do not use Clip to infringe intellectual property or privacy, distribute unlawful content, impersonate someone deceptively, create non-consensual intimate material, exploit children, spread malware, or interfere with the service. Do not present fabricated endorsements or testimonials as genuine. Follow applicable advertising rules and the rules of the platforms where you publish.
Do not share sensitive personal information or confidential material with an optional external processing feature unless you have authority and an appropriate basis to do so.
6. Copyright concerns and appeals
Report concerns to info@startsimple.cc with the subject “VCMP Clip copyright report”. Include your name, contact address, the work and rights concerned, where the disputed material can be found, why you believe the use is unlawful, and any supporting evidence. Please say whether you are the rights holder or their authorised representative.
We will assess reports promptly and may ask for clarification, restrict access to material we host, or suspend relevant Clip functionality while investigating. We cannot remove files held only on someone’s device or on another platform. Unless law or a safety concern prevents it, we will explain the action to the affected user and allow them to provide permission evidence or request a review using the same email address.
Repeated substantiated infringement or a serious breach can lead to suspension or closure of Clip access. We will consider the evidence and circumstances, including an appeal, and act proportionately. We may act immediately where needed to address unlawful content, harm or a security threat.
7. Responsibility if something goes wrong
We are responsible for providing the service with reasonable care and skill and for losses for which the law makes us responsible. We cannot promise that a third party will never make a claim about your content. Your upload confirmation does not determine whether a particular use is lawful.
Business customers only: if your deliberate or negligent breach of section 3 causes a valid third-party claim against us, you agree to reimburse the reasonable, direct losses and reasonable legal costs caused by that breach, to the extent permitted by law. We will notify you promptly, take reasonable steps to reduce loss and allow you to participate in the defence. We will not agree a settlement payable by you without your reasonable consent. This does not cover loss caused by our own breach, negligence or misconduct, and there is no double recovery.
That business reimbursement obligation does not apply to consumers. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer remedies, restricts lawful complaints or court proceedings, or excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Changes, cancellation and disputes
We may make technical, security or legally required changes to the free beta. Where reasonably possible, we will give advance notice of a material reduction or closure so you can export your work. An optional paid service must have its own clear purchase and cancellation information; these beta terms do not waive a statutory cooling-off period or refund entitlement.
Please contact us first if you have a concern so we can try to resolve it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory protection and right to use the courts available where they live. Business disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
