The invoicing gap

Why booking-only software can leave more admin behind

When bookings and invoicing live in separate tools, the customer and service details often have to be entered again after the work. Solo connects the operational steps so the quote or invoice can stay related to the appointment.

From booking to invoice

01

Customer books

A public booking records the chosen service, duration and customer details.

02

Details stay with the work

Keep the appointment, customer information and relevant notes organised.

03

The service takes place

Use the appointment as the operational record of the work or service.

04

Create the right document

Prepare a quote or create an invoice that can relate to the appointment.

05

Keep follow-up organised

Track the finance document without recreating the customer and service from scratch.

Booking and customer details together

Keep customer contact details and notes alongside the operational booking process without claiming a complete accounting or historical CRM system.

Quotes and invoices connected to the work

Create professional quotes and invoices, with finance documents able to relate directly to the appointment they cover.

Deposits before the appointment

Eligible businesses can connect Stripe and request a percentage deposit at booking. Final invoice card payment is not implied.

Operational software, not statutory accounting

Solo handles customers, appointments, services, quotes and invoices. Keep specialist accounting software for bookkeeping, tax, MTD and statutory reporting.

Useful for service businesses that invoice after the work

When a specialist system may be better

Businesses needing statutory accounting, complex field-service dispatch, deep inventory or point-of-sale control, or specialist compliance records may still need dedicated software alongside Solo.

Booking and invoicing questions

Can I create an invoice connected to a booking?

Yes. Solo finance documents can be related to an appointment, keeping the invoice connected to the work it covers.

Can Solo create quotes as well as invoices?

Yes. Solo includes quotes and invoices, so you can prepare a quote before work and create the appropriate invoice when needed.

Can I take a deposit when a customer books?

Yes. Eligible businesses can connect Stripe and set a percentage deposit for bookings. This is separate from claiming that every invoice supports online card payment.

Does Solo replace accounting software?

No. Solo supports the operational journey from customer and appointment to quote and invoice. Specialist software may still be needed for bookkeeping, tax, MTD and statutory reporting.

Can customers book without downloading an app?

Yes. Customers can use a public booking page in their browser without creating a Solo account or downloading an app.

Is Solo suitable for a one-person service business?

Yes. Solo is designed for sole traders and small service businesses that want their website, bookings, customers, quotes and invoices in one operational workspace.
