Privacy and document handling

What we process

We process your name, business name and email to create your workspace, authenticate you and send account messages. We also process documents that you upload, the extraction settings you choose, extracted fields and tables, edits and review status, timestamps and document usage.

Your original files

Original uploads are processed in memory and are not stored by VCMP. Your browser can retain a temporary preview while the workspace tab is open. Reloading or closing the tab removes that preview. You can upload a file again to reopen it.

AI processing

Document contents are sent to OpenAI to extract fields, source excerpts and tables. We disable response storage for these requests. This does not create a zero-retention arrangement: OpenAI's standard security and abuse-monitoring retention can still apply. Processing may involve international transfers under the providers' applicable arrangements. Do not upload information you are not entitled to share with these processors.

Extracted results and retention

Extracted results are available in your workspace for 30 days. Expired results are excluded from access and are removed by the product's cleanup process. You can delete a retained result sooner. Backup retention follows the underlying VCMP infrastructure's practices, so removal from active storage does not imply immediate removal from every backup.

Accounts and payment

We reuse VCMP's account and organisation infrastructure, with access restricted to the appropriate Unfold organisation membership. Stripe handles payment details and subscriptions. Card details are not stored by Unfold. Billing and accounting information may be retained as required for business records.

Service providers and safeguards

Unfold uses VCMP's hosting, database and email infrastructure, together with OpenAI for extraction and Stripe for billing. We use server-side access checks, private responses, document size limits, input validation and rate limits. Documents are treated as data; their contents cannot authorise tools, code execution or changes to your other VCMP products.

Your choices

You can review, edit, export and delete extracted documents. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of your account information. Essential account cookies keep you signed in. The VCMP marketing website uses its existing analytics and privacy arrangements.
