A BUYING GUIDE FROM VCMP

Solo vs Fresha: a website and booking software comparison

Solo by VCMP combines a business website, appointments and customer administration. Fresha presents scheduling and customer booking through several channels, including its marketplace. Choose around the journey you want customers and staff to complete, then compare the current plan and channel charges using the same monthly workload.

When should you consider each route?

Solo by VCMP

Consider Solo when your own business website, appointments, customer records, quotes and invoices need to work as one routine. Demonstrate the services, staff assignments and booking rules you actually use; a list of supported industries is not proof that every specialist requirement is included.

Fresha

Fresha is a relevant option for beauty and wellness operators who value its scheduling tools and customer-discovery channels. If marketplace acquisition matters to you, assess that separately from bookings made through your own website. BookSolo is a separate VCMP marketplace, not another name for Solo.

One rehearsal to compare both proposals

  1. Build a fictional appointment for a named service with one eligible employee.
  2. Try an unavailable employee and a conflicting resource. Check what the customer can actually book.
  3. Reschedule the appointment, follow the customer message and check the staff calendar.
  4. Review one quote or invoice workflow you need, then test a retail sale if it belongs in your scope.
  5. Agree the export, customer-consent handling, future appointments and replacement booking links before switching.

These are fictional buying scenarios, not customer results or a claim that every demonstrated requirement is already included.

What changes by market?

Put the actual country in the brief. These are practical checks to confirm, not claims of local availability or offices in these countries.

UK

For a salon or service business, map appointments, staff-service eligibility and existing booking links before switching. Keep the business domain and search landing pages in the plan.

USA

Test a customer booking from a different time zone and staff working hours at the service location. Confirm the requested currency and payment provider for the actual business account.

UAE

Demonstrate Arabic and English customer journeys separately from staff workspace language. Confirm the local business's payment account and who maintains translated service descriptions.

Lebanon

List Arabic, English and any French requirements by screen and message. Demonstrate each required journey; translated marketing does not establish complete product-language coverage.

Qatar

For appointment businesses, demonstrate the right staff and resource for each service, including Arabic/English customer messages. Confirm local payment availability before selecting a plan.

Oman

Test the full appointment journey on the phones used by customers and staff. Agree Arabic/English wording, training and the handover when a staff member changes role.

Questions before the decision

Does a booking marketplace replace my own website?

A marketplace can provide a discovery channel, while your own site presents your brand, services and direct booking journey. Compare these responsibilities separately and confirm who owns and maintains each part.

Can I keep my current business domain?

Make the domain and existing search landing pages part of the migration brief. Confirm the connection process, redirects, content ownership and who will make changes before committing to a switch.
