Start with the handover, not just the inventory list

Knowing that an item exists is different from knowing who currently holds it. FireTrack Pro combines firearm inventory with issue and return custody history, personnel credentials, ammunition accountability and incident records. In an evaluation, follow one item through a complete issue and return rather than stopping at the register screen.

Bring an example of your existing handover procedure. Check which person is recorded at each step, how the equipment record connects to the personnel record, and what a manager can review afterwards. Use fictional information in the public demo rather than entering operational or personal records.

Review credentials and exceptions together

Credential expiry tracking gives personnel records a time dimension. Review how your organisation checks credentials before assigning equipment, and agree who follows up an approaching expiry. Incident records and management reporting should support the people responsible for exceptions, not merely add another list to maintain.

FireTrack supports record keeping and accountability. Your organisation remains responsible for local licensing requirements and operational supervision. Command covers contract delivery; Waypoint covers sourced country intelligence and voluntary field-team check-ins. Confirm which modules and team access are appropriate for your organisation.

Your evaluation checklist

  1. Follow an item from inventory through issue, return and custody history.
  2. Check how personnel credentials and expiry dates support your existing procedure.
  3. Review how an ammunition discrepancy or incident reaches the responsible manager.
  4. Confirm staff access, reporting needs and local record-keeping requirements.
