VCMP Waypoint · Workflow note
Plan a field-team check-in workflow with VCMP Waypoint
A practical evaluation of sourced country intelligence, voluntary staff check-ins, vehicle reports and travel assessments.
Read the source and the date before making a decision
A country summary is most useful when your team can inspect where its information came from. Waypoint combines sourced country intelligence and maps with travel assessments, incident records, voluntary staff check-ins and vehicle reports. Begin your evaluation with a route or destination your organisation actually needs to assess.
Open the original sources, compare their dates and identify any gaps in coverage. Decide who reviews the travel assessment and what additional local information they need. Intelligence helps inform a decision; it does not guarantee that a journey is safe.
Define what a check-in means to your team
Waypoint uses voluntary reports rather than continuous staff tracking. A displayed location is the last check-in supplied by the person, not proof of their current position. Agree a check-in schedule, the staff member's consent and privacy expectations, and the action to take when a report is late.
Evaluate vehicle reports and incident records alongside that escalation procedure. Waypoint supports field coordination; FireTrack serves equipment custody and credentials, while Command coordinates contract obligations and delivery evidence. Keep those purposes clear when deciding which modules your team needs.
Your evaluation checklist
- Open original intelligence sources and compare their publication dates.
- Agree who reviews a travel assessment and how local information is added.
- Explain voluntary check-ins and privacy expectations to participating staff.
- Document a missed-check-in escalation and the role of vehicle and incident reports.
