StartSimple · Workflow note
Scope one business bottleneck from discovery to StartSimple handover
Define the trigger, approved inputs, human decision and measurable result for a bespoke website, agent or automation before expanding the project.
Describe the job before choosing the technology
Choose one recurring bottleneck and write the current trigger, inputs, people, systems, decision and desired output. Add a measurable success condition such as fewer incomplete handovers or faster preparation, plus the errors that must never pass silently. This separates a useful project brief from a broad request to add AI.
For an agent or automation, list the approved knowledge, tool permissions and actions it may take. Mark which steps require human review and who owns exceptions. For a website, map the intended audience, page purpose and next action. StartSimple scopes bespoke work; a VCMP product may be the better route when an established workflow already fits.
Prototype the risky edges and plan ownership after launch
Use fictional records to demonstrate the smallest end-to-end journey, including missing input, duplicate requests, unavailable systems and a person declining the recommendation. Review outputs and logs before connecting live data or granting production actions. A convincing happy path is not enough for an operational handover.
Agree milestones, acceptance checks, data ownership, access removal, support and the person responsible for future changes. Record the working version and the limits that remain. Project price, timing, integrations and ongoing support are confirmed after discovery; the public service description does not imply a fixed package or universal connection.
Your evaluation checklist
- Map one trigger, approved input, decision, output, owner and success measure.
- List tool permissions, human approvals and failures that must stop the workflow.
- Demonstrate the happy path and important negative cases with fictional records.
- Agree acceptance, ownership, access removal, support and change control at handover.
